IntroductionFor better or worse, Girlmeetscam.com is one of the most technologically advanced websites on the Internet. And we don't just mean out of webcam sites or adult sites, we are talking about all websites. We love pushing the envelope of technology and stretching the capabilities of web browsers to bring you the best possible interactive experience. As a result, strange technical errors will happen from time to time. |
Clearing cache and cookiesCache is the technical term for temporary files that are stored on your computer while you browse web pages so that the next time you visit the same page it loads faster. Internet Explorer: Click on the Tools link or Gear Icon at the top or press (Alt+X), then Internet Options, then Delete Browsing History. Then click on Delete Temporary Internet files (cache) and then click on Delete Cookies. Then close all web browser windows and restart it. Firefox:Click on Tools links at the top, and then Clear Recent History. Click the Details arrow and make sure that Cookies and Cache are checked. For Time Range, select "Everything". Then click Clear Now and restart the web browser. Google Chrome:Click the Wrench icon in the top-right and then click on Settings, then "Show Advanced Settings..." at the bottom, and then Clear Browsing Data. Select Cache and Cookies and then click clear. Then close all web browser windows and restart it. |
Choosing a web browserYour web browser is the program that you use to browse the Internet. On Windows computers, Internet Explorer is your default web browser. |
Connection modesWhen you arrive at Girlmeetscam.com, a connection must be established between the website and your computer, so that you can see what models are online, etc. By default, this connection is made using Flash Player. Please make sure you have the latest version of Flash Player installed. If you have the latest version of Flash Player but it does not load, that means there is a Firewall or Anti-Virus application preventing it from working properly. You should disable that firewall or application so that Flash works, more info on that in the section below. As a backup, if Flash cannot load, we will attempt to connect to your computer using a technology called WebSockets (Gmail uses the same technology). WebSockets does not currently work with Internet Explorer, but it works with Chrome and Firefox web browsers. If WebSockets cannot load, we will attempt to connect using Java. You can download the latest version of Java if you need to. If Java cannot load, we will attempt to connect using AJAX. |
FirewallsThere are lots of programs out there that claim to protect your computer including firewalls, anti-virus programs, security suites, and so on. In most cases, these programs are constantly running on your computer and significantly slow down everything you do, particularly browsing the web. |
